A much needed book on Bangkok's architecture. I hope that it gets revised and expanded multiple times. It focuses heavily, too heavily, on early 20th century mansions, temples, and palaces. Getting serious short shrift is anything modern. There is relatively little coverage of hotels, cinemas, shopping malls and other high rises. Let's hope that expanded editions change the limited focus. That said, Architectural Guide Bangkok provides a lot of valuable information about architects, including names and dates, of many important historical structures. This is not a comprehensive book, such as the AIA Guidebooks to New York and Chicago, but an invaluable first step.Product details
